Being naturally close to vocal and vertical writing, these short pieces form the condensed form of musical elements that are dear to me. The concern for harmonic research and the precision of a simple and clear counterpoint are at the center of this work. These pieces being of a vocal nature but not sung, allow some rhythmic and agogic concessions which serve the musical purpose. The exploration of the 24 keys also brings colors that are often unusual in the choral tradition. These keys are treated by cycle of fifths but begin with the relative minor followed by the major, slightly altering the general impression of the whole.
